Not only have I studied extensively on this subject, but I've been there personally with my own children. I understand how detrimental lack of sleep can be to a family. I can teach you different techniques to work into your life and also be there to support you along the way.
No. I believe that the cry it out (extinction) method is harsh and there are other techniques that can get the desired results. That being said, there might be some crying since this is the only way your baby knows how to communicate after all! Teaching your baby how to fall asleep independently can be frustrating for them but I have several techniques that we can choose together as a team.
Absolutely! I breastfed both of my babies and successfully sleep trained. I encourage you to speak to your child's doctor about night feedings. If you're not comfortable completely cutting out night feeds then we can definitely work with them.
I'm a big believer in safe sleep practices. If you are willing to follow the Canadian guidelines for safe sleep, I can absolutely help your family!
- Always place baby on their back to sleep.
- Be smoke free
- Safe sleep space (alone in a crib/playpen with only a sheet. No loose bedding, toys, or crib bumpers)
I'm certified through the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting. I've extensively studied the science behind sleep training and varying techniques to help families with their issues.
I'm located in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia but this process can be done 100% virtually. We can do zoom or phone calls, and text/emailing for daily updates.
